CHAMPAIGN, IL — Today, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) announced that she will be hosting a Veterans Resource Fair in Champaign on Saturday, June 1st, at Parkland Community College. The event will help to connect local veterans with the benefits and services available to them through the PACT Act, local Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) and the VA. The day will also include a panel discussion on the unique challenges facing women veterans and the solutions that can be pursued in Congress.

“Our nation’s veterans have put their lives on the line to keep our families and communities safe. Helping them access the benefits and services they’ve earned is the least we can do to return the favor,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “I’m excited to host a Veterans Resource Fair to help ensure that all of our local heroes can be connected with the resources they need. I also look forward to convening women veterans for a panel discussion on the unique challenges they face and how we can improve their access to health care and other resources.”

The Veterans Resource Fair will begin at 1:00 p.m. and last until 4:00 p.m. CDT. During the fair, several groups will have tables set up to provide helpful information on connecting local veterans to the resources available to them. Budzinski’s panel discussion with women veterans will begin at 2:15 p.m. CDT.

Organizations participating include the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, the Chez Veterans Center, the VA Illiana Health Care System, Tri-State Women Warriors, Sisters in Service, the Wounded Warrior Project and the Military Officers Association of America.
