Budzinski & Nunn in State Journal-Register Op-Ed: Congress Must Pass a “Strong, Bipartisan Farm Bill”
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Representatives Nikki Budzinski (D-IL-13) and Zach Nunn (R-IA-03) penned an op-ed in the State Journal-Register about the need for Congress to get a strong, bipartisan Farm Bill over the finish line. The 2018 Farm Bill expires on September 30th.

“We know Washington can’t seem to agree on much lately, but passing a strong, bipartisan farm bill that drives food production and feeds hungry families is what our country needs. That’s why, as freshman lawmakers from different parties, we’re fighting to get a farm bill reauthorization across the finish line this Congress,” wrote the Members.

The lawmakers’ op-ed continues Budzinski’s “Farm Bill 101” initiative aimed at highlighting how this critical legislation impacts communities throughout Central and Southern Illinois. Budzinski is a member of the House Committee on Agriculture and three of its subcommittees focused on commodity exchanges, rural development and agricultural research.
