As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, Budzinski is using her position to provide a seat at the table for thousands of farmers in IL-13 . She currently serves as Vice Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, and Credit.
The House Agriculture Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, and Credit is responsible for policies, statutes, and markets relating to commodities including barley, cotton, cottonseed, corn, grain sorghum, honey, mohair, oats, other oilseeds, peanuts, pulse crops, rice, soybeans, sugar, wheat, and wool; the Commodity Credit Corporation; risk management policies and statutes, including Federal Crop Insurance; producer data and privacy issues; agricultural credit; and related oversight of such issues.
House Veterans’ Affairs Committee
Congresswoman Budzinski also serves on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, which is is the authorizing committee for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The committee is responsible for recommending legislation related to veterans’ benefits.
Budzinski is currently Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Technology Modernization, which has oversight and investigative jurisdiction over the Department of Veterans Affairs’ major IT projects and technology modernization programs, such as the Electronic Health Record (EHR) modernization program and the Financial Management Business Transformation (FMBT). The Subcommittee also oversees cybersecurity, data privacy and management, and technology innovation at the VA.
