HARRISTOWN: Budzinski Delivers $1 Million For Water Service Line Upgrades
Today, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) delivered $1 million in new federal funding to upgrade Harristown’s water service lines. She joined Mayor Les Jenkins to announce the grant at the Harristown Community Center.
“Everyone should have peace of mind that when they turn on their tap, they’ll get clean, safe water,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “I’m proud to deliver $1 million in federal funding for Harristown to upgrade its aging water service lines – a critical project that will help the village lower its water loss and improve reliability for residents. Ensuring that Central and Southern Illinois receive its fair share of federal resources is one of my top priorities and I will continue to work to make important local initiatives like these possible.”
Budzinski secured the money as part of the Community Project Funding (CPF) process for the 2026 Fiscal Year. The funding will be used to replace aging water service lines, which will help to lower water loss numbers, remove existing aging service lines, and ensure safe, reliable water for the residents of Harristown.
