Budzinski Votes Against House Republican Rules Package
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) released the following statement in response to her vote against the House Republicans’ rules package for the 119th Congress:
“Since entering Congress, I have been committed to reaching across the aisle. Unfortunately, this rules package prioritizes party-line tactics over genuine collaboration and limits both parties’ power to offer amendments on several highly contentious bills. The bills included in this package provide a troubling glimpse into Republican priorities this Congress – limiting the voting rights of women and veterans, restricting access to reproductive care, and cutting funding for critical government programs. I hope House Republicans recognize that bipartisanship is an essential ingredient to addressing the needs of working families in Central and Southern Illinois.”
