WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) released the following statement on her vote to pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) and keep the federal government funded through March 14, 2025. The bill also extends critical Farm Bill programs for one year:

“Today, Congress fulfilled our most basic duty to the American people — keeping the government funded and ensuring our brave service members and essential workers receive a paycheck over the holidays. This bill also extends necessary Farm Bill programs and provides support to America’s farmers at a time when they need it most,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “While I’m relieved we avoided a shutdown, I’m disappointed that House Republicans broke their word. We had a bipartisan deal to keep our government funded — a deal that would have helped our corn growers with the sale of year-round E15, lowered drug prices, and reauthorized critical workforce and apprenticeship programs, all while funding key government services for working families. This was the deal Americans were set to receive, until Elon Musk told House Republicans to trash it. As we approach the new term, Republicans must stop prioritizing the demands of unelected billionaires and focus on addressing the real needs of everyday Americans.”
