Budzinski Releases Employment Resource Guide
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) released an employment resource guide to help folks in Central and Southern Illinois connect with local job opportunities. The guide includes links to federal, state and local resources to help improve access to workforce development resources and job openings in the area.
“I came to Congress to lift up working families and help communities across Central and Southern Illinois thrive. A key part of that is ensuring that everyone has access to a good paying job,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “Whether folks are entering the job market for the first time or seeking a new role, I’m hopeful that our employment resources guide will be a helpful tool to improve access to new opportunities available throughout Illinois’ 13th Congressional District.”
Since joining Congress, Budzinski has been focused on supporting pathways to good paying jobs. Her first bill, the LEAP Act, would address the job skills gap by supporting apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs. The bill uses federal tax incentives to encourage more businesses to hire apprenticeship employees.
Budzinski has also been working to strengthen notification requirements of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act and improve assistance available to impacted workers through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in response to local layoffs.
