Budzinski Launches Climate Jobs Task Force
WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) launched a House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) Climate Jobs Task Force. She will serve as a Co-Chair on the task force with Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-1) and Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10).
The Climate Jobs Task Force will be focused on advocating for pro-worker, pro-environment policies and bringing labor and environmental groups to the table to find climate solutions that benefit our economy and our planet.
“As we transition to clean energy and reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources, it’s essential that we focus on creating good-paying union jobs along the way,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “I’m proud to lead a Climate Jobs Task Force within the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition to focus on climate solutions that benefit workers and our economy. I look forward to working with my other Co-Chairs Suzanne Bonamici and Mark DeSaulnier to bring labor and environmental groups together to tackle climate challenges.”
The task force is a part of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition’s efforts to tackle climate challenges. The Climate Jobs Task Force will work to encourage clean energy workforce development and pro-manufacturing policies, advance registered apprenticeship programs and tax credits, create good paying jobs in the clean energy industry, promote stronger workplace protections and ensure that impacted legacy energy workers receive the proper resources and attention.
Members of the Climate Jobs Task Force include Representatives Jake Auchincloss (MA-4), Bobby Scott (VA-3), Chris Deluzio (PA-17), Debbie Dingell (MI-6), Seth Magaziner (RI-2) and Paul Tonko (NY-20).
The House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition also has task forces on Climate and Agriculture, Clean Energy Deployment, Nature and Oceans and Climate and National Security.
