Budzinski Appointed to Health Subcommittee of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) announced her appointment to the Health Subcommittee of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. In this role, Budzinski will be focused on ensuring every veteran in Central and Southern Illinois has access to the health care benefits they’ve earned and deserve.

“As the grandchild of two World War II veterans, I grew up understanding the deep debt of gratitude owed to the men and women who’ve served our country,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “That’s why I’m thrilled to be joining the Health Subcommittee of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, where I can support our two VA Outpatient Clinics and work to improve access to health care for our local heroes.”

The Subcommittee on Health has legislative, oversight and investigative jurisdiction over the Veterans Health Administration – including medical services, medical support and compliance, medical facilities, medical and prosthetic research, and major and minor construction.

Illinois’ 13th Congressional District includes the Springfield, IL Vet Center and the Decatur VA Outpatient Clinic. Congresswoman Budzinski has been appointed to serve on the House Agriculture and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs for the 118th Congress.
